{"id":1273,"date":"2021-10-23T22:34:09","date_gmt":"2021-10-24T03:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zewwy.ca\/?p=1273"},"modified":"2021-10-23T22:34:09","modified_gmt":"2021-10-24T03:34:09","slug":"vami-stuck-loadingvami-unable-to-login","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zewwy.ca\/index.php\/2021\/10\/23\/vami-stuck-loadingvami-unable-to-login\/","title":{"rendered":"VAMI Stuck Loading<\/br>VAMI Unable to Login"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So today I wanted to resolve the fact my VCSA would say <a href=\"https:\/\/communities.vmware.com\/t5\/vCenter-Server-Discussions\/vcenter-7-appliance-is-running-low-on-memory-12GB\/td-p\/2814803\">low memory on the VAMI health page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I was about to attempt the fix provided by the contributor, since the answer by the employee just lead me down <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/vsphere\/2020\/04\/vsphere-7-vsphere-pod-service.html\">the rabbit hole of what the vsphere-pod service was<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I was on 7.0.2 of vCenter, and noticed there was a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.vmware.com\/en\/VMware-vSphere\/7.0\/rn\/vsphere-vcenter-server-703-release-notes.html\">recent update to 7.0.3<\/a> I proceeded to update. After it was done everything seemed to be working fine and I was curious if it resolved the low memory health warning in VAMI. To my dismay, when I navigated to the VAMI port URL, I was greeted with nothing more then a spinning &#8220;Loading&#8221; circle.<\/p>\n<p>When I opened an incognito window, and attempted to log in I was greeted with &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/kb.vmware.com\/s\/article\/59344\">unable to login<\/a>&#8221; . Googling lead me to the linked reference, which after reading I noticed it talking about the service &#8220;applmgmt&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to give restarting the service a shot.<\/p>\n<p>service-control &#8211;stop applemgmt<\/p>\n<p>then start it back up<\/p>\n<p>service-control &#8211;start applemgmt<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/jfQGfcw.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/jfQGfcw.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lucky for me it worked, and I was able to login (at least via a incognito window). The issue with my main browser seemed to be cache, so I pressed F12, opened the dev tools, then right clicked the refresh icon and clicked &#8220;Empty Cache and Hard refresh&#8221; which resolved my issue.<\/p>\n<p>When I got into VAMI the health was all green which resolved me low memory issue as well. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So today I wanted to resolve the fact my VCSA would say low memory on the VAMI health page.
