This was super annoying attemping to sign as a new user account on a server, when I was interupted by the error
“User Profile Service Failed the Logon – user profile cannot be loaded”
OK… logging on with my alternative account that I logged in all the time without issue and checked out event viewer. Sure enough a bunch of Event 1500 and 1511…
So I went to google, the first one I went to I didn’t like the idea of replacing files, the second source from technet had a much easier attempt at a fix and good upvotes, so I did that….
“by reapplying permissions on the folder “C:\Users\Default”.
Right click on the folder – Select Properties – Security – Advanced – Change Permissions
Activate checkbox “Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object”.
Click OK.”
and sure enough it worked, I was able to log in with the new account.
